Anything to do with information and how we track it, use it, communicate it, that’s informatics. Informatics research crosses numerous disciplines including computing science, electrical and computer engineering, physics, and mathematics. iCORE plays a pivotal role in bringing world class research teams together and supporting their work through various grant programs. iCORE funds numerous research chairs at Alberta universities and has recently established an iCORE Research Chair in conjunction with the National Institute for Nanotechnology.
